Biography

Mitchell Whitfield is a 25-year veteran of the entertainment industry. A well-known film and television actor, Mitchell began his career on the New York stage, starring in Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues. After a two-year run of both plays, Mitchell made his screen debut with a supporting role in the Jeremy Irons film, Reversal of Fortune. Six months later, he was cast opposite River Phoenix and Lilly Taylor in the Warner Bros. feature Dogfight; a movie in which he gained ten pounds to play a Marine Private. Little did he know that three months after shooting Dogfight, he would be asked to lose thirty pounds for his next film, My Cousin Vinny, in which Mitchell played Ralph Macchio’s neurotic sidekick Stan, on trial for his life with Joe Pesci as his lawyer. Other credits include co-starring in the Julie Davis film, Amy’s O. He and Davis also collaborated on the MGM film I Love You, Don’t Touch Me! You may also have seen Mitchell in special guest appearances on such hit shows as CSI for CBS, Curb Your Enthusiasm for HBO and The Suite Life of Zach and Cody for Disney. He also co-starred opposite David Spade in the Warner Brothers feature Lost and Found.

Among Mitchell’s many other television credits are co-starring roles in the NBC/UPN series Minor Adjustments, and the UPN series Head Over Heels, as well as numerous guest appearances, including a recurring role on Friends as Rachel’s infamous ex-fiancé, Barry the Orthodontist. Other screen credits include the Universal film, Sergeant Bilko with Steve Martin, the MGM/UA film Best Men, co-starring Drew Barrymore and Luke Wilson and Dead of Night starring Brandon Routh, due out later this year. If his voice sounds familiar, it's because Mitchell has also been a top voice-over artist for the past three decades. He voiced the role of Donatello in the 2007 hit animated feature TMNT; he was also heard opposite Ron Pearlman in 2006’s Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms. Mitchell also has many animated television shows to his credit, including a lead role in the hit Disney series W.I.T.C.H.; he has also been heard as the voice of Coca-Cola, Visa, Comcast, McDonalds, Suzuki, American Express, Burger King and Blockbuster Video, to name a few.

Mitchell is a proud graduate of New York’s High School of Performing Arts and now resides in Woodland Hills California with his wife and 2 children.
